As we have stated many times, if we make a mistake and publish something in error we will correct it. We make every effort to tell you the truth as we know it but it seems we did not have the facts correct in this case.
In our last blog titled “Let’s Make a Few Things Clear” we wrote the following statement: We are VERY concerned that they do not always answer questions from the public. It seems there is one person that they never answer questions from because “they do not have time”. We wrote this because this is what we heard at the last board meeting. Well, it turns out this has changed.
It is our policy to not publish names of readers that contact us, but in this case the reader is allowing us to use his name. After reviewing board meeting notes we have noticed that Jim Wilhelm seems to attend most meetings and asks a lot of questions. At the board meeting on Jan. 16th Mr. Wilhelm was questioning the board as to why they were not answering his “written questions” he had submitted. As it turns out, Mr. Wilhelm received an email on Jan 17th from the Terrebonne Sanitary District with 15 of his questions answered. Here is the text of that letter as sent to us by Mr. Wilhelm:
Jim,
Please find attached responses to your list of questions.
Please note that while we have prepared detailed responses this time as a courtesy, this should not be expected going forward.
The District will consider your questions and comments, but has no obligation to answer questions – as you yourself have stated in board meetings.
The District intends to answer legitimate questions from the public if and when it has the information, bandwidth, and resources to do so.
Thank you for your understanding. Terrebonne Sanitary District
When we wrote our blog we were not aware that the Terrebonne Sanitary District had in fact answered some questions. Mr. Wilhelm read our blog and contacted us with the updated information. This means that we reported the facts as we knew them at the time. We are now updating our blog as new information has come to light.
Will the Terrebonne Sanitary District will be answering questions in the near future? It does not appear so. From what we read in this email, the board will not be answering any more questions and they believe Mr. Wilhelm’s questions are illegitimate.
We have other concerns that you can read about on previous blogs so please read any that you find interesting. We welcome all our readers to sign up and subscribe (bottom of home page) for our newsletter and updates so you never miss a story.
